Miriam is a registered Clinical Psychologist. She provides individual and group based psychological interventions to clients with complex needs across a range of settings including private practice, psychiatric hospitals and outpatient settings.

Miriam’s clinical practice is compassionate, authentic and tailored for each individual. Her practice is focused on supporting people to live meaningful and productive lives.  

Miriam works extensively with individuals diagnosed with Borderline Personality disorder, mood disorders and complex trauma. She is specifically skilled in assisting people to enhance emotion regulation skills, learn to tolerate distress and improve interpersonal effectiveness. 

Areas of clinical focus include:

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Difficulties with emotion dysregulation

  • Borderline personality disorder 

  • Complex trauma 

  • Bipolar disorder

  • Interpersonal difficulties 

  • Supporting young adults/adolescents through challenges experienced in transition to adulthood.

Miriam embodies a client centred, empathetic and individualised approach to therapy. She is trained in a variety of evidence based psychotherapies and works with each client to find the most appropriate approach for their therapeutic needs.

  • Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy 

  • Motivational Interviewing

  • Psychodynamic Psychotherapy 

Miriam also has extensive teaching and training experience in the field of psychology, including convening, lecturing on the topic of substance abuse and teaching clinical skills at both Griffith and Bond University. She is a published researcher in the area of attentional psychophysiology.
